Recent national policy discussions have placed renewed focus on pathways into higher education and the important role that Enabling programs play in widening participation. As governments, universities and the sector continue to explore more equitable pathways into tertiary education, Enabling Education is increasingly recognised as a vital contributor to student success, social inclusion and lifelong learning.
Against this backdrop, the 8th Biennial National Association of Enabling Educators of Australia (NAEEA) Conference will bring together educators, researchers, practitioners and sector leaders to explore the future of Enabling Education in Australia.
Hosted by Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University, the conference will be held in Perth from 2-4 December 2026. The program will provide opportunities to connect with colleagues from across the country, share research and innovative practice, and contribute to conversations shaping the future of the sector.
Conference themes will explore a range of contemporary issues, including inclusive curriculum and pedagogy, digital innovation, accessible learning environments, diverse knowledges, student wellbeing, and the future policy directions influencing Enabling Education. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops, presentations and networking events designed to foster collaboration and strengthen professional practice.
