The Research Development Grant supports research projects that generate new knowledge and strengthen evidence-informed practice within the Enabling Education sector.
Funding is intended to assist researchers in undertaking projects that have the potential to improve policy, pedagogy, student success and sector-wide outcomes.
Supports the early development of innovative research ideas, collaborative projects and pilot studies with potential to grow.

The Enabling Education Seed Grant supports the early development of innovative research ideas, collaborative projects and pilot studies that have the potential to grow into larger research initiatives or external grant applications.
The grant is designed to encourage new collaborations, test emerging ideas and build research capacity across the Enabling Education sector.

The Excellence in Enabling Teaching Award recognises outstanding educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning within the Enabling Education sector.
The award celebrates innovative, evidence-informed practices that foster student success, belonging, confidence, engagement and achievement while creating inclusive, accessible and culturally responsive learning environments for diverse student cohorts.
Supporting distinguished services to Enabling Education.

Frequency: Biennially (aligned with the NAEEA Conference)
The Distinguished Service Award recognises an individual who has made an exceptional and sustained contribution to the Enabling Education sector through leadership, advocacy, scholarship, service and a longstanding commitment to advancing Enabling Education.
Recipients of this award have demonstrated a lasting impact on the sector through their leadership, collaboration and dedication to improving opportunities and outcomes for Enabling students and educators.
Applications are submitted online and assessed by the NAEEA Executive or appointed review panels.
Celebrating the individuals and organisations shaping environmental education. Our past recipients represent the impact and innovation at the heart of NAEEA.
Teaching Excellence Award 2024 for outstanding teaching in the Federation University Enabling program, that has been sustained over a period of time and evidenced through exceptional teaching satisfaction scores and qualitative comments from students. Liam’s enactment of Enabling and care-full pedagogies in curriculum design and connection with the students has produced excellent outcomes for his students. Liam is demonstrating curriculum leadership in the Enabling sector through the sole authorship of an introduction to academic literacies and university culture textbook that was competitively selected for publication. The NAEEA Teaching Excellence Award panel commends Liam for his commitment to high-quality teaching in Enabling Education.
Award 2024 for exceptional teaching in an Enabling outreach program for First Nation’s women in incarceration in Brisbane. Erin’s commitment to providing an education experience grounded in Indigenous pedagogies and Indigenous knowledges that focuses on culture has been recognised widely across education and political sectors for its potential to empower women who have been disengaged from education. Through Erin’s ‘Winanga-Li’s Framework’, Erin can re-engage women in education providing a positive experience that is culturally responsive and build the learners confidence and capabilities to see themselves furthering their education once their period of incarceration has finished. Erin’s drive to make a difference to the lives of others through education is central to the Enabling philosophy and why she is a worthy recipient of the NAEEA Teaching Excellence Award 2024.
