Inside the NAEEA Research Community

Members, Research

Research has always been central to the ongoing development of Enabling Education. Across Australia, NAEEA members are investigating innovative teaching approaches, student engagement strategies, curriculum design and equity initiatives that improve educational outcomes.

The Association provides valuable opportunities for researchers to share their work through conferences, publications, presentations and collaborative projects. These activities encourage the exchange of ideas while helping build a strong evidence base for the sector.

Importantly, NAEEA’s research community brings together academics, practitioners and professional staff from a wide variety of disciplines. This diversity of perspectives enriches discussion and ensures that research remains closely connected to the realities of teaching and supporting students.

Many projects emerging from the Enabling Education community focus on improving the student experience. Topics such as belonging, transition, digital learning, wellbeing, assessment and inclusive pedagogy continue to generate practical insights that benefit institutions across Australia.

By fostering collaboration rather than competition, NAEEA creates an environment where ideas can be tested, refined and shared for the benefit of the wider sector. Early-career researchers are encouraged alongside experienced academics, ensuring the next generation of scholarship continues to grow.

As new challenges emerge across higher education, research will remain essential in guiding evidence-informed practice. NAEEA is proud to support a vibrant research community whose work continues to strengthen Enabling education nationally.
