NAEEA (National Association of Enabling Educators of Australia) is the national association for Enabling Educators and practitioners working across the higher education sector.
For over two decades, NAEEA has brought together leaders in equity, access and transformative pedagogy to strengthen Enabling Education as a recognised and respected discipline. We represent educators across universities and institutions nationwide, supporting collaboration, scholarship and national dialogue.

Enabling Education refers to structured, university-based programs designed to prepare students for entry into undergraduate study. These programs use inclusive, strengths-based approaches to build confidence, capability, and academic readiness, while expanding access to higher education and supporting long-term student success.

NAEEA is governed by an elected Executive Committee, with members serving a two-year term. At the conclusion of each term, executive positions become vacant, and the full NAEEA membership is invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). Executive members are formally elected by the membership. This process ensures a transparent and inclusive approach to leadership, providing all members with the opportunity to contribute to the direction and governance of the association.

We maintain strong international and regional connections with organisations including the Foundation and Bridging Educators of New Zealand (FABENZ), the Forum for Access and Continuing Education (FACE) in the United Kingdom, and Equity Practitioners in Higher Education Australasia (EPHEA). Through this collaboration, the network fosters cross-institutional partnerships and strengthens outcomes for underrepresented learners.
